U2が12作のリマスター・シングル・コレクションをデジタル・リリースすることを発表した。
'U2 To Love and Only Love - Deep Dives and B-Sides'と題されたこのシリーズは、デジタル時代の到来以前にCD、12”シングル、カセットのフィジカル商品に収録されていたリミックスやB面曲やライヴ音源を新たにリマスターし、デジタルEPの形にまとめたもので、今年中にリリースされる予定。多くの音源が初のデジタル配信となる。
第1弾の「Discothèque EP」は4月5日（金）に配信開始された。「Discothèque」は、9枚目のアルバム『ポップ』のファースト・シングルとして27年前の1997年1月にリリースされ、世界中に強烈なインパクトを与えた楽曲で、EPには「Discothèque」のミックス10ヴァージョンとB面曲「Holy Joe」が2ヴァージョン収録されている。「Holy Joe (Guilty Mix) 」は『ポップ』日本盤CDのボーナス・トラックとなっている。
